I actually love all the Rambo movies. They are all pretty good and I will never be tired watching them. My favourite ranking is 1 – 4 – 3 – 2. Nevertheless I love a good parody.

I watched Rambo IV yesterday. This was the first time I watched this movie. I originally intented to watch it in cinema but I missed the occasion to watch in the original version and not in German.

Everybody who watched Rambo I-III has to watch this movie. At least to complete the series. But the movie is completely different from it’s forerunners. The difference between part IV and it’s forerunners is like the difference between Die Hard IV and the appendant forerunners. Different colors, different style of story. The main actors are much older. While in Die Hard IV the good party wins, in Rambo IV the victory is not that visible. The opponent is just to big for a few people to fight. The movie is extremly intense. The action is heavy and bloody and nothing for people with bad nerves. In all Rambo movies Rambo is fighting alone or with a combatant against an overpowering Force. But especially this time the situation of him looks deeply desperate. And the only thing he can do is, to help only a small group of people.

The movie is about 75 minutes long. But don’t think because this is quite a short movie, it is a feeble one. As I said it before the movie is intense and one has to take deep breaths sometimes. Of course it is just a movie, but like in all Rambo movies they have a political content in the story. In Rambo I it was the declining attitude of the American people against the returning soldiers from Vietnam. In Rambo II he searched for POW which are still imprisoned in Vietnam. In Rambo III he wants to show the suffering of the Afghan people which were oppressed by the Russian invaders. And finally in Rambo IV the plot is located in Burma/Myanmar where a neverending civil war is happening. Although it is a movie the plot is not a fictive one. Knowing that one has to feel very happy to live in safe and secure Germany without fearing for his/her life all the time.

Some languages are not made for serious movies IMHO. I am watching Rambo II with Norwegian subtitles. This is so funny because it doesn’t sound so serious like in English. I love Norwegian language

… I haven’t slept very much this night due to the pain in my right shoulder.

Yesterday I did my first filming for a DVD. I can not unveil the subject of the filming until it’s finished. But it was pretty exciting. We had great weather and really nice locations. The filming took almost 10 hours. But I didn’t recognize how the time flew. We had real cameras like they use in TV. Although those are not actual ones but they give a great picture as well. The only negative point is the weight of those cameras. Although I do some handle training I am not trained to heave a heavy camera over a couple of hours. Now my shoulder joint hurts and I don’t know how to lie in bed. As a result I only slept about three hours. I feel like after a looong party. My mouth feels like I ate a couple of mothballs

this year the Valentine’s day is a very special day. Rambo IV is coming into the cinemas in Germany this day. And I’m really looking forward to this movie because the previous Rambo movies are great. Yeah of course, there is some violence in there but don’t look only at this detail. The message of those movies is – IMHO – very important.

I’m also looking forward to February, 29th – release of the new Draconian album – and to March, 26th – release of the new Moonsorrow Album. Because I really love all the albums of them I think the new ones are very good as well.

Dieses Jahr ist der Valentinstag ein ganz besonderer Tag. An diesem Tag kommt Rambo IV in die deutschen Kinos. Ich freue mich schon riesig auf diesen Film, weil ich die vorherigen Rambo Filme großartig finde. Natürlich, etwas Gewalt kommt da schon vor, aber man darf da nicht nur auf dieses Detail schauen. Die Message bei diesen Filmen ist auch sehr wichtig (IMHO).

Außerdem freue ich mich auf den 29. Februar – neues Album von Draconian – und auf den 26. März – neues Album von Moonsorrow. Da ich alle ihre Alben liebe, denke ich, dass die neuen mindestens genauso gut sind.
