sport… again… lol
Jul 27th, 2009 by Tobi

Every couple of months I start again with doing sport. Looks like a usual thing in my life :P
The heart rate monitor my girlfriend gave me once for my birthday (or was it xmas?) conked out. So for better training I bought a new one. The Polar F6 includes a nice feature… it counts the calories you are wasting during sport. This is great. It pushes me to do just a little more sport. Just a little more. :D
Jürgen (one of my colleagues from work) lent me his race ergometer for a couple of months. He is building a nice little apartment in the storage area of his father. During this time he doesn’t need the ergometer.
When coming home I don’t have an excuse for not doing sport now. Cannot say: too hot, too rainy, too thunderstormy lol … well I can, but it’s useless now ;)

training break
Sep 6th, 2008 by Tobi

Since August, 19th when I wet my shoes after the bike training I did not train for a couple of reasons. The first reason were my wet shoes. A couple of days later my molar tooth broke into two parts. Almost a week later I had my visit at the dentist where I got my broken tooth pulled out. After this operation I had to stay away from alcohol (not such a big problem), from tea (oh no… not my beloved tea) and coffee (well, who cares about coffee). And I had to abandon sport activities untill the wound is healed up completely. I am in good spirits that I can start with my training Wednesday this week.

Another problem is that a part of the track is be renewed. I hope they are finished soo.

wet shoes

After my training yesterday my shoes are still wet. It poured like hell yesterday. But that wasn’t that problem because it was quite warm. Around 23-24°C I guess. But under the bridges the water wasn’t flowing off and as a result there were big puddles. They were up to 40cm deep. This resulted in totally wet shoes. And for that I can not train until they are dry again. Consarnit!

Daily routine
Aug 6th, 2008 by Tobi

My daily routine includes bike training. The circuit I drive is about 19,2km long give or take a couple of meters. Ealier I tried to get a 22km/h average at least. Nowadays my goal is 23km/h. Yesterday I drove an average speed of 23,98km/h which is my record on this track. The wind direction was agreeable, the strength of it also. So I didn’t loose to much time on the way there and let me fly home with the wind in my back on the way back.

Despite of the ride yesterday the wind today was very unfavourable. I didn’t reach my goal of 23km/h average speed by 0,12km/h. So my goal for tomorrow is perfectly clear: drive faster than today.

One word to the surrounding temperatures. I read from a couple of sporticians that they do best when it is warm. The warmer it is the better they are. For me it is the opposite. The warmer it is the more unpleasant I feel. I hate it to breath air which gets cooled in my lungs.

Thank God it’s Weekend. Ok, that has nothing to do with God, but anyhow I am really happy that I can sleep a little bit longer. Although this is far from sleep in.

Yesterday I kicked the training on my bike to have a little more relaxation. But that was not so good as I expected. I guess I should keep the daily training to keep my body in a state of exhaustion to sleep better. I am counting the days till fall.

how low can I go?
Jan 18th, 2008 by Tobi

Due to a lack of fitness I decided to reduce my weight. 110kg are too much (1,93m). Okay, I already started it a couple of month ago when I weighed 120kg. I tried by jogging in the nearby forest. But that was too heavy for my joints and so I quited it and began with handle training. But by this I didn’t loose weight. I only got some muscles on the upper arms.  10 days ago I started training with my mountain bike. I got a pretty course (P-shaped) about 19,1km with some short gradients. The wind is driving me crazy. Either I have upwind in the first stage or the second stage. After the first couple of trainings I gained weight (I weighed 107kg before starting MTB training) and that was really frustrating. I hope further training will reduce my mass significantly. My goal is less than 90kg by the and of May (this year ;) ).
